On Friday, April 12 at 1:53 pm, Osage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hostage situation that occurred in McCord on Bell Road. Osage County requested an ERT (Emergency Response Team) team for a male subject that barricaded himself with a female hostage in the area of 319 Bell Road.
A new series of free classes for all those who will one day retire or who are already retired will begin on Thursday, April 18 in the Ponca City Senior Center from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. During this past weekend, the Kay County Youth Pageants held their Gem of the Chikaskia Renaissance Festival in Blackwell. This Renaissance Festival was held at the Memorial Park, located at 1400 S Main, and brought a new form of entertainment to the people of Kay County.
