April 16, 2024 Stolen Vehicle - At 4:58 am, the reporting party advised of a white Ford Mustang that was stolen. Vehicle was located on Highway 60 at 5:24 am. A pursuit ensued which ended in a crash at 14th and Highland. Officers took a 16-year-old juvenile into custody for larceny of an automobile, eluding, reckless endangerment, felony running a roadblock, and destruction of property.

THIS WEEKEND AT THE PONCA CITY GOSPEL JUBILEE The Ponca City Gospel Jubilee will be featuring “Waves of Faith “ ministry Saturday April 27th. at 6:30 p.m. Dale and Janell Rochell are from Duncan Oklahoma and will be bringing country gospel music that’s sure to bless all who attend. This husbandand- wife team travel extensively throughout the country known as “Waves of Faith” singing, testifying and bringing the Word wherever the Lord opens a door for them. They have been featured at the Jubilee several times and really enjoyed by the audience each time. We hope you will plan to attend and join us in this great evening of music and fellowship. The Gospel Jubilee band then take stage and conclude the evening following a short intermission and drawings.

Last year’s teacher pay raise hasn’t slowed resignations — yet

Teacher turnover hit its highest point since the pandemic last school year, when more than 6,000 Oklahoma public school teachers left the classroom. The crush of school departures occurred even as the state implemented the largest salary increase for educators since 2018 at $3,000 to $6,000 per teacher, depending on experience.

Supreme Court to decide if government can regulate ‘ghost guns’

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court will decide whether the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives can regulate socalled “ghost gun” kits that can be assembled into a working firearm. The Biden administration asked the justices to overturn a lower court decision that tossed out a rule meant to curb the kits, which allow a buyer to complete a gun that does not have a serial number to track and without a background check.
