ederal health bureau- deserve an F grade Fcrats for preparedness. Despite years of warnings about America’s overdependence on China for medicines, masks and other equipment, these officials did nothing to remedy the situation. Thatcher and Reagan ... why do they hate them so much?

Body
ASHINGTON — I am Wrounding the last turn of Charles Moore’s magisterial biography of Margaret Thatcher. It is no sprint. It is not even a long-distance race. It is a marathon of a literary work, three volumes. Three thick volumes. Yet, as I have said, it is a masterpiece. Charles loves Ms. Thatcher. That is not to say he lets her off easy. Charles is too fine a biographer for that, and Thatcher is too complicated a subject to escape his critical eye. So, he has given us three volumes on the lady who returned Britain to economic health and world significance. Read it for yourself.

Dear Annie

Body
Dear Annie: I am a 64-yearold woman. Trying to date seems more difficult as I get older. Seems like most men only want one thing or younger women. I have tried online dating sites with not much luck. I live in a small town, and there aren’t many single men. Do you have any suggestions on where to meet a good man? — L.C.

Dear Annie

Body
Dear Annie: I’ve had my current job for four years. I work at a small company of about 20 employees. My co-worker, “Beth,” has been here about a year longer than me. She joined my department about six months ago. One thing I appreciate about my department is our work- life balance. We care about our work, but we also care about having time for our families and other interests outside of work. I will, of course, stay late when there’s something urgent or important that I need to get done or if a co-worker needs help with something. But that only happens maybe once a month. Even then, I rarely stay more than an hour later.

Dear Annie: I have never written to a columnist in my 70 years, but “Sad and Somewhat Angry Granny,” whose daughter-in-law wouldn’t allow her kids to open any of the Christmas gifts Granny brought them overseas before Christmas Day, really struck a chord with me.

Dear Annie: I have been seeing this guy for about eight months now and don't know how to explain what the situation is. He always comes to my house, and we watch TV and do a lot of talking. I feel like I have known him my whole life and am so comfortable with him.
