AS YOU WALKED

Body
AS YOU WALKED into the Ponca City Senior Center recently, you could smell the aroma of home cooking. Nancy Hursh, Jenni Craft, Lucy Page and Lorene Stalcup volunteered to utilize the Senior Center’s new kitchen to prepare and bake Snickerdoodle cookies for lunch. Together these four ladies have years of experience in the kitchen. Marie Trenary, programming specialist said, “It was wonderful to hear these ladies laughing as they stirred, mixed, and created the magic only a kitchen full of grandmothers can create.”

Everyday Cheapskate

Body
Dear Mary: My husband and I are looking to buy our first home, and I’m a little nervous about applying for a mortgage. During my single days, I got myself into a heap of trouble with credit card debt and filed for bankruptcy. Since then, I’ve been extremely careful about spending and saving, but I’m still worried about what my past recklessness has done to my credit. Even worse, I haven’t been able to bring myself to tell my budget-conscious husband about it. What can I do to make sure this doesn’t ruin our chances of getting a home? — Donna
