This school year the Ponca City Public School District provided families with three learning options. These three options included: Option One-Traditional School, Option 2-Virtual Learning (while students in 6th-12th grade were provided with the opportunity to participate in activities such as Band, Orchestra, and Sports), or Option 3-The complete virtual option.

Trump says he wants vote on Ginsburg replacement before election

President Donald Trump said he’ll name a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday or Saturday and that he wants the new justice confirmed before the November election. Trump said in an interview he’s considering four or five women to replace Ginsburg, a liberal icon who died Friday at 87.

Public Library Services You May Not Know About That Can Save You Money My adult children are big on borrowing stuff from their parents. And, from time to time, they may fail (you know who you are, son) to mention having borrowed something like a Milwaukee Sawzall reciprocating saw in its big, bright red case, prompting that son’s father to assume said tool had been stolen after searching the garage high and low for it on a day he had an urgent need for it -- further prompting said father to reluctantly make a trip to Home Depot to buy a replacement.

A 21 Gun Salute Ceremony

A 21 Gun Salute Ceremony was held at Veteran’s Plaza on Friday at noon to honor POW/MIA Armed Services members from the state of Oklahoma. Mayor Homer Nicholson and State Representative Ken Luttrell, both Veterans themselves, were in attendance and speeches were given by Homer Nicholson and Mike Seals, as well as many other veterans who were there to honor those who have served and who are still missing. Stickers were placed next to the list of POW/MIA armed services members who were identified and brought back to their families after serving at war and this was followed by a 21 gun salute. Aldi grocery store, which is located at 1000 E. Prospect Ave. in Ponca City, will be closing at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20th through Monday, Nov. 2nd, 2020 temporarily for remodeling. The newly remodeled store will feature a brand new look, an expanded fresh section, a new easy-toshop store layout and aisle after aisle of savings. Aldi encourages customers to visit the most nearby location at 1188 N. Perkins Rd. in Stillwater, OK while construction is ongoing.
