Lorna Kay Collins - Mercer, aged 69, passed away on April. 19, 2024 after a courageous battle with stage 4 Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the blood). She departed peacefully at her home under the amazing care of North Central Oklahoma Hospice and also surrounded by loved ones.

Born on January 29, 1955, Lorna touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her. More than once it was commented to her that she was a warrior and she would quickly respond that she is a product of lots of prayers full of love and support. It was her Lord that gave her the strength to be seen as a warrior.

Throughout her life, Lorna Kay Collins - Mercer embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Many times throughout the journey she would take time to pray for others. This included but not limited to the following: Nurses; Medical aids; fellow patients as well as visitors she would have come to see her. Lorna’s legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in this journey.

Lorna Kay Collins - Mercer is survived by the following members of her immediate loving family: Michael Lane Mercer, husband of 20 years; Camron M. Kimbrel, son along with his daughter Gypsy E. Kimbrel; Luke C. Boyett, son along with his wife Anna K. Boyett. Also survived by members of her extended family including but not limited to the following: Carol Fairhurst, sister; Connie Collins - Smith, sister; Dave Fairhurst, brother - in - law along with an assortment of nieces and nephews and cousins. The memory of her will live on in the hearts of those who knew Lorna, and the strength she showed all the way until her last breath will continue to inspire generations to come.

A celebration of Lorna Kay Collins - Mercer’s life will be held on May 4,2024 at the Tonkawa Assembly of God church located at 206 N Second St, Tonkawa, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family to help during this time of transition. May Lorna Kay Collins Mercer rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may she always be remembered for the love and light and hope brought into the lives of others.
