The Ponca City Chamber of Commerce Education and Workforce Committee held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, May 3 at 4 pm. Arlene Stauffer called the meeting to order.

A suspect in a fatality accident that occurred on Oct. 10, 2023 has been arrested and is in custody of the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office in Rockport, Texas.

Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve is not a destination that is unfamiliar to the Ponca City News. We have explored in depth the incredible history and entertainment that the location still offers today. To recap, Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve, before it went by that name, was built in 1925 from the dream of Frank Phillips and his mission to preserve the history of the west, all while educating and entertaining future generations. This 3,700 acre preserve, home to native animal species, as well as those who are not so native, also includes a museum and an incredible art gallery that holds close ties to Ponca City.

The United States Postal Services and United Way are teaming up for the 31st Annual National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 11. This annual event sees carriers picking up food donations on their regular mail routes.

The Ponca City Trailblazers Rotary Club will be holding their first annual Crawfest event on Saturday, May 11 from 6 pm to 10 pm at the City Central Building located at 400 E. Central Avenue.

A new exhibit at the John McNeese Gallery in the City Central building, located at 400 E. Central Ave., will make its debut with a come and go opening reception on Wednesday, May 8 from 2 pm to 6 pm.

April 26, 2024 Accident - At 6:17 am, a one vehicle accident occurred at 5th and Highland. The vehicle ran into the light pole and another possible vehicle on the south side of the road. Roadway was cleared.
