Robert Glenn Willison

Robert Glenn Willison, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 93. Robert, known to everyone as Bob, was born on January 3, 1927 in Pocatello, Idaho to his parents, Leo and Neletah Willison. They moved to Ponca City when he was 3 months old and he lived here the rest of his life. Bob attended schools in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. After his honorable discharge from the military, Bob married Violet Louise Harris on June 3, 1948 in Ponca City and they had 72 years together. He worked in Research and Development at Conoco for 34 years retiring in 1982.

Gary Dale Martin

Gary Dale Martin, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. He was 77 years old. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Those wishing to attend the Mass will need to wear a mask. For those unable to attend, there will be a live stream available on the Trout Funeral Home website: www.troutfuneralhome.com Following the memorial Mass, the procession will proceed to City Hall for the tolling of the final bell in honor of a man who spent his entire career serving the citizens of Ponca City, and he will then be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Honorary Casket bearers will be: John Brown, Phillip Tyndall, Craig Stephenson, Homer Nicholson, Rich Cantillon, Jeff Washco and Tom Pardee. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

David Lynn Singleton

David Lynn Singleton was born in Ft. Worth, TX, on September 22, 1964. He entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 1, 2020. After boldly holding ALS at bay for 14 years, surviving a couple of strokes and a heart attack, and beating cancer twice, he defiantly succumbed to complications of COVID-19. Nevertheless, David went on his own terms, living passionately and worshipping God in spirit and in truth until he took his final breath at home, with family present physically and virtually.

Wendell “Pete” Hurd

Body

Pete Hurd, life-long resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died at his home on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, after a long and difficult struggle with kidney disease and partial paralysis. He was 82 years old. Pete was born in Ponca City in 1938, the fourth son of Vernon and Winnie Hurd. He attended Ponca City schools, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957, and served for four years aboard the USS Hamul, a destroyer tender, making two excursions to Japan, the Philippines, China, and the surrounding areas.

Billie Edwards

Body
Billie Edwards passed away August 29, 2020, in Oklahoma City. He was born April 12, 1929, in Ponca City, OK. He entered the US Army in 1946 and served as a Palace Guard in Seoul, Korea. Upon returning home, he joined the Active National Guard and was called back into active duty and served another tour in Korea before receiving an honorable discharge.

There will be a viewing Thursday, September 3, 2020, 1-4pm at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside service will be 10am Friday, September 4, 2020 at Eddy New Home Cemetery, Grant County.
