WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden said Monday that the U.S. banking system is “safe and secure” following the failure of Silicon Valley Bank and closure of Signature Bank last week.

Congressional lawmakers are calling on the State Department to issue a travel advisory warning Americans that some Mexican pharmacies are passing off counterfeit pills made of fentanyl and methamphetamine as legitimate pharmaceuticals.

This week in the House saw us reach the halfway point of the legislative session. Before the committee deadline, we saw 543 bills pass out of House committees for consideration on the floor, and this week we heard 163 different measures before the full body. So far this session I’ve had four bills pass the House and one that is still on the floor calendar for consideration.
