Public Safety Center improves safety in Newkirk
Body
The Newkirk Public Safety Center rises two stories above Maple Street in downtown Newkirk. Multiple bays house fire trucks and ambulances operated by the Newkirk Fire/EMS service (NFD), the first time in many years they were able to store all vehicles indoors. Fire Chief Adam Longcrier sits behind his desk in the biggest office he has ever worked as fire chief. In a window behind him, the old station is clearly visible, a station they had spent more than half a century in.
