STILLWATER, Okla. – A Hughes County recycled tire garden project has been recognized as a finalist for the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Environmental Excellence award. The program focuses on teaching Choctaw Nation youth and adults to grow and market culturally relevant crops.

Ponca City High School and the LEAP class at Woodlands Elementary have been participating in a Kindness Workshop. DECA members have attended class with the LEAP students and each week taught a new kindness trait by reading a story, discussing the story, and then creating a project to practice understanding. DECA members have been focusing on anti-bullying but also how to deal positively with bullies.
