THE STUDENTS

THE STUDENTS at PCPS Wildcat Academy are learning life skills from local volunteer Sean Searle. He comes to the school every Thursday and teachings life skills to students. Sean says he volunteers his time to help the students deal with relationships, faith, money, careers, etc. Pictured are Mary Rathbun and Sean Searle in one picture and Elaina Smith and Katy Cramer with Audrey Choney and Kalley Horn.

Northern Oklahoma Humane Society highlighted at school

THE EAST Middle School Student Council planned and orchestrated a school-wide assembly highlighting the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society during Wildcat Wednesday. Representatives from the Humane Society came to talk with students about what the Humane Society does. They brought two dogs with them to hopefully inspire students to participate more in the Humane Society Drive. The East Middle School Student Council Humane Society Drive runs through March 12. Donations can be brought to East Middle School located at 614 East Grand Avenue. AS YOU WALKED

AS YOU WALKED into the Ponca City Senior Center recently, you could smell the aroma of home cooking. Nancy Hursh, Jenni Craft, Lucy Page and Lorene Stalcup volunteered to utilize the Senior Center’s new kitchen to prepare and bake Snickerdoodle cookies for lunch. Together these four ladies have years of experience in the kitchen. Marie Trenary, programming specialist said, “It was wonderful to hear these ladies laughing as they stirred, mixed, and created the magic only a kitchen full of grandmothers can create.”

County commissioners meet

NEWKIRK — The Board of County Commissioners held a regular meeting Monday at the Kay County Courthouse. Some of the items on the agenda that were discussed and approved were from Donna Parker, Oklahoma Court Services, giving her monthly report, road construction occurring in all three districts and the consideration, discussion and approval of directing the Kay County Treasurer to forward all Kay County Sales Tax and Use Tax designated to Bonds Series 2019 and 2020.

During my single days, I got myself into a heap of trouble with credit card debt and filed for bankruptcy. Since then, I’ve been extremely careful about spending and saving, but I’m still worried about what my past recklessness has done to my credit.
