August 31st, 2023 is International Overdose Awareness Day, the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose. Overdose Awareness helps us remember those who have died without stigma, while acknowledging the grief of the family and friends left behind. It is also a reminder of the harm drugs have on our society and spreads the message that drug overdose is preventable.

Newkirk Rodeo was a smashing success

This past weekend, the 55th Annual Newkirk Range Riders Rodeo filled the stands and the chutes as they prepared for an unforgettable two days. The contestants of the rodeo showed their skill and talents over the two nights, many going home with cash prizes for their performance. These skills and talents are hard earned and incredibly useful when working on a ranch and are required tasks to keep said ranches alive.

Sticking with ERIC, Georgia finds 432K outdated voter registrations

While nine Republican-led states have recently quit the voter accuracy organization called ERIC, Georgia election officials say the numbers tell the story: It’s working. ERIC’s information has resulted in 432,000 Georgia voter registrations canceled or made inactive during the past two years because they moved or died, according to data provided by the secretary of state’s office in response to a request from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
