State of the City forum held at City Hall

The first of three fall forums by the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce Ponca Politics Committee was held on Friday, Sept. 29. This forum, held at City Hall, was the State of the City and saw Mayor Homer Nicholson and City Manager Craig Stephenson share updates on Ponca City’s various departments and projects with citizens that gathered for the forum. The forum was also streamed live on Facebook, on the Chamber’s page for those at home to view the forum.

MEXICO CITY – The recent surge in migrants at the U.S.Mexico border is a “gigantic” problem that will persist until the U.S. creates legal pathways and, with other countries, addresses the root causes that force people to leave their homelands, Mexico’s top diplomat for North American affairs warned in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

Grandparent raising grandchildren stress & burnout

When you are a grandparent raising a grandchild, you don’t get to just have fun with them like a grandparent is supposed to. You have to be the parent as well as the grandparent. Many times the grandparent is retired and looking at enjoying retirement when they are faced with caring for a grandchild or multiple grandchildren. You may even still be working and trying to juggle working to provide for them and having the time to care for yourself as well as them. It is important to take some time for yourself and care for you as well as the grandchildren.

5 things OSU football could do to fix issues on bye week

The bye week always arrives at a good time for football teams no matter when it is, but for Oklahoma State, it’s more needed than ever. The Cowboys are coming off a 33-7 loss at home to South Alabama (who then went and lost to Central Michigan at home) and a 34-27 loss at Iowa State, which had the worst offense in the Big 12 heading into that game.
