Tulsa Schools avoid state takeover, improves accreditation status

Tulsa Public Schools, the state’s largest district, staved off a state takeover or loss of accreditation. The district’s decision to part ways with Superintendent Deborah Gist this week helped persuade the state Board of Education, led by Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters, to accredit Tulsa schools Thursday, after delaying the decision in July.

Nate Collins: His Legacy Lives On

Nate Collins, lovingly known as Big Nate, was a light in the lives of so many in this community. At only 18 years old, he made a name for himself that showed both his incredible talent on the football field, but most importantly, who he was as a human being. If you spoke to anyone who had ever known, or even just met Big Nate, the first thing that would be said is how kind and supportive he was.

Aug. 18, 2023 Burglary - At 7:46 am, the reporting party on 911 requested an officer in reference to his apartment that was broken into sometime over night at 2100 N. Union. He has already cleared it.
