Disavowing Trump, a tearful Jenna Ellis pleads guilty in Fulton election probe

Attorney Jenna Ellis on Tuesday became the fourth defendant in the Fulton County election interference case to strike a deal with prosecutors. In exchange for her cooperation, Ellis pleaded guilty to one count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings, a felony.

State of the Schools forum to be held Friday, Oct. 27

The second in a series of three Ponca Politics forums will be held in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall on Friday, Oct. 27 from 12 pm to 1 pm. This forum will be the State of the Schools with representatives from Northern Oklahoma College (NOC), Pioneer Technology Center (PTC), the University Center (UC), and the Ponca City Public Schools (PCPS).

Soroptimist members attend South Central Region Fall Meeting

PONCA CITY, OK – Six members of Soroptimist International of Ponca City (SIPC) recently attended the South Central Region Fall District Meetings in Oklahoma City titled “There’s No Place Like Home.” Attending were SIPC President Lilly Freeman, Presidentelect Sandy Sibley, Board Member Debi Vap. Also, Vice-President Cindy Wigley, Secretary Kathy Tippin and Immediate Past-President Terri Buesing. The theme was an analogy for building your club. District Directors Kimberly Doty, District I; Ruth Parman, District II: and Marlena Hernandez, District III organized the meeting. They said the theme came from “knowing home is where the heart is and most of our hearts are with our own club”.

MS. SMITH’S third grade

MS. SMITH’S third grade class at Lincoln Elementary transformed into Doctors to review and practice their identification and usage of nonfiction text features. Students went on “rounds” as Non-Fiction Text Feature Physicians. They then entered the operating room to diagnose patients’ problems, such as where to locate information in a book, define words found in a nonfiction books, and much more. Students were sure to wear gloves and use only the most sterile of tweezers. Needless to say students had an educational AND memorable time. Photos provided
