The Ponca City Senior Center had several members participate in the OKC Senior Memorial Marathon, Saturday, April 27. In collaboration with Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative, participants logged 25 miles in preparation to complete their last 1.2 miles at the marathon.

On May 1, The Blackwell Event Center hosted its first ever Career Exploration Fair. With a large variety of educational institutions, as well as career fields, students of Kay County were able to explore different options for their futures. Students, parents, and any job seekers were highly encouraged to see what the fair had to offer. They even offered assistance with any FASFA paperwork that might be necessary. This event was sponsored by Blackwell Public Schools, Blackwell Economic Development Authority & Industrial Authority, The City of Blackwell, Blackwell Chamber of Commerce, and Pioneer Technology Center.
