Jan. 4, 2024 Disturbance - At 7:22 am, the reporting party on 911 requested an officer in reference to a subject causing a disturbance in the area of 2709 Rice. Subject was getting their stuff and moved along. Police were no longer needed.

4-H’ers learn nutrition, kitchen skills through food programs

On a chilly, sunny afternoon shortly after the school day Jan. 4, a group of 4-H’ers meets at the Kay County Oklahoma State University Extension office in Newkirk. In front of those students is a variety of food ingredients, items they will turn into a delicious, healthy snack. It is a workshop, a chance to dive into culinary fun and practice ahead of the Food Showdown, a special event exhibiting their skills and competing against one another this coming Monday, Jan. 15.
