Israel to face genocide case in International Court over Gaza strikes: Q&A

Israel’s three-month military campaign against the Hamas group, a response to the Oct. 7 attacks on its own country, has led to growing international pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pull back Israel’s armed forces. South Africa, among the most vocal critics of the devastating war in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, has now called on the United Nations’ International Court of Justice to rule that Israel’s actions constitute genocide.

Punchline for Paws will be held on Feb. 17, at the Osage Casino and Hotel. The people of Ponca City will have the opportunity to have an incredible night of laughter all for a great cause.

Elm Street, Grand Avenue to Broadway Avenue closing

Stuever Dirtworks, LLC has entered a contract with the City of Ponca City to construct a new water line and new street paving improvements on Elm Street from Grand Avenue to Broadway Avenue. Work will include the installation of a new 6-inch water line to replace the old deteriorated water line and reconstruction of the brick pavement with new asphalt pavement. The work will also include new concrete curbs and gutters, drive approaches and sidewalks.

NOYS to offer parental discipline workshop

Parenting children can be difficult when learning to discipline, especially when they may not want to obey orders, which could lead to a lot of fighting amongst parents and their kids. The Northern Oklahoma Youth Services (NOYS) would like to help those young parents set boundaries with their kids in a special workshop, to be held this evening at Washington Pre-K Center, 1615 N. Seventh St.
