Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) will be hosting an event called the “Non-Profit Conference” will be held next month on Friday, Feb. 9 from 9 am to 4 pm. Registration for the event is currently open and underway.

On Saturday, Jan. 5, many people of the Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma celebrated and spent their day at their New Years Dance. This dance was held in their beautiful and newly renovated Ponca Tribal Cultural Center and featured many talented and amazing performers. From the drum circle, whose songs will give you goosebumps, to the dancers, who show their high energy and knowledge of their culture as they dance around the drum circle, there is no part of these celebrations that aren’t meaningful and powerful.

Trisha Fox was optimistic when her husband, Richard Fox, appeared on the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board docket in early September. The 63-year-old prisoner, incarcerated since 1980 on a first-degree murder conviction in Caddo County, had not received a misconduct violation since 1995.

Ponca City Rotary is topping off a busy holiday season as they finish up one of their annual projects. In 2008, the club began their participation in The Dictionary Project by presenting personalized dictionaries to every 3rd grader in Ponca City. Over the years the project has expanded to include all of the 3rd grade students in Kay County schools. Once this year’s presentations are complete, the club will have presented over 9,000 dictionaries.

TOKYO — An international team of investigators is combing through the wreckage of the two aircraft that collided at Tokyo Haneda airport on Jan. 2 as they seek to establish what caused the runway incursion, with the voice and data recorders set to provide vital readouts of the fateful final moments before impact.
