The Bull 104.7 and WBBZ 1230AM each month recognize outstanding teachers in our area with the Golden Apple Award. The recipient for March is Cory Burkett, a history teacher at East Middle School. THE PONCA CITY junior high girls golf team finished third in the recent Ponca City Invitational with a score of 258. Wellington, Kan., was the team champion with a score of 220. Ponca City’s Katelyn Clark was the individual champion having shot a 48. Ponca team members include, from left, Gracie Orr, Brylen Liberton, Landry Baur, Katelyn Clark and Ella McKee.

This dark thriller introduces us to the Parkers, a reclusive family who follow ancient customs, who find their secret existence threatened as a torrential downpour moves into their area, forcing daughters Iris (Childers) and Rose (Garner) to assume responsibilities beyond those of a typical family.
