The Bull 104.7 and WBBZ 1230AM each month recognize outstanding teachers in our area with the Golden Apple Award. The recipient for March is Cory Burkett, a history teacher at East Middle School. THE PONCA CITY junior high girls golf team

THE PONCA CITY junior high girls golf team finished third in the recent Ponca City Invitational with a score of 258. Wellington, Kan., was the team champion with a score of 220. Ponca City’s Katelyn Clark was the individual champion having shot a 48. Ponca team members include, from left, Gracie Orr, Brylen Liberton, Landry Baur, Katelyn Clark and Ella McKee.

Tonkawa Film Festival Special Screening Announced

TONKAWA, OK — The organizers of the Tonkawa Film Festival are excited to announce a special screening, Friday May 21st at 9PM, of the film ‘We Are What We Are’ directed by Jim Mickle (Hap & Leonard, Cold in July, In The Shadow of the Moon) starring Bill Sage (American Psycho, Precious, Wrong Turn, The Pale Door), Ambyr Childers (The Master, All My Children, Ray Donovan) and Julia Garner (Ozark, The Assistant, Waco). This dark thriller introduces us to the Parkers, a reclusive family who follow ancient customs, who find their secret existence threatened as a torrential downpour moves into their area, forcing daughters Iris (Childers) and Rose (Garner) to assume responsibilities beyond those of a typical family.

Sparklight® continues partnership with Arbor Day Foundation to plant 110,000 trees

April 27, 2021 – Phoenix, AZ – In honor of Arbor Day, Sparklight® is pleased to announce it has extended its partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant trees on behalf of customers who switch to paperless billing. Now in its seventh year, the partnership has resulted in 110,000 trees being planted in Sparklight markets and is helping further the Foundation’s Time for Trees® initiative – a commitment to plant 100 million trees in forests and communities worldwide by 2022, the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day.
