United Way Donates 800 Face Coverings for PCPS Students

Body

United Way of Ponca City provided previous camping tee-shirts, and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers cut 800 bandanas for PCPS students to use as a temporary face covering as needed.

"Our district wanted to make sure everyone has access to face covering instantly, explained PCPS Superintendent Shelley Arrott." Many Volunteers have helped us make "once and done" face covering at school or on the bus. The face coverings are double folded bandana style coverings made from clean tee-shirts, fabric, or sheets.

Heroes in Education: Superintendent Shelley Arrott

Body
With Ponca City Public Schools now open and students returning to class after a five month long absence, there were many anxieties about what the school year would look like going forward. In times like this leadership is important and at PCPS, Superintendent Shelley Arrott has stepped up for her district as a leader.

Everyday Cheapskate

Body
There is a predictable progression many of us go through as we make a decision to stop living beyond our means. We get cheap. In fact, some even call us cheapskates -- a label that I enjoy because it proves that I’m not the person I used to be (a credit card junkie and a totally whacked-out spendthrift).
