A-Tech Paving of Oklahoma City has entered a contract with the City of Ponca City to reconstruct pavement on Prospect Avenue from 14th Street to 350 feet west. Phase One of the project is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 5, 2021.
Baseball Wildcats lose to Sapulpa

In a district game played at the Po-Hi baseball field Monday, the Sapulpa Chieftains defeated Ponca City 5-0. It was senior night and Wildcat seniors Hunter Freeman and Nate Harbeson were recognized.
Mavs baseball splits with Redlands

The 3rd ranked NOC Mavs earned a split in a conference doubleheader with Redlands Saturday in Tonkawa. The Mavs won three of four over the Cougars in the conference opening series.

As the NCAA Tournament excitement builds while we move from the Sweet 16 to the Elite 8 and then the Final 4, my reminiscing cells have started revving up to recall tournaments of past years. I didn’t fill out a bracket this year for the first time in many years.

The 88th Annual Meeting of Cherokee Strip Credit Union was held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Pioneer Technology Center. During the meeting, Howard Sissel was presented an Excellence in Service Award for 36 years with the Credit Union, including 29 years as its former Chief Executive Officer. As noted in the Credit Union’s 2020 Annual Report, Don Lockwood also received this Award for his 30 years of volunteer leadership. Director of Technology & Logistics Mark Love was recognized for his 18-year service anniversary, as was Stacey Calderon for her recent promotion to Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.
Delaney Reimer receives Leo Canaday Memorial Scholarship
