ENID-- The Ponca City Lady Cats softball team closed out their regular season last weekend with two victories. They defeated Putnam City 9-3 and then came back with a 4-3 win over Enid.
LAWTON -- The Ponca City Wildcats earned their first football victory of the season and did it in a big way, defeating the Lawton Wolverines 42-8. The victory was a much needed district win and boosted the Wildcats’ record to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in District 6AII-2.
The Newkirk Co-Ed Cheer team has had an unprecedented success at winning championships and awards, seeing seven previous state titles in competitive cheerleading. They now have another win for the record books, as last weekend, Sept. 23, they have won their eighth state title, proving they remain a force today in cheerleading.

And, as you may have guessed, our combined record in those games entering Week 4 was 6-11-1. As a loyal reader likes to point out when we all pick the same game, that’s never a good sign. OKLAHOMA CITY -- Ponca City has been assigned to the Owasso Class 6A Regional according to information announced Friday by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association. Also in the Owasso Regional are Owasso, Putnam City West and Bartlesville.
