Blackwell determined safe after bomb threat Thursday morning

On the morning of Thursday, Sept. 14th, at 11:35 am, the Blackwell Police Department received a call from the Entrado Emergency Center informing them that there was an individual on the phone who said a subject had threatened to throw a bomb through the window of a Blackwell business, located near the fairgrounds. The area surrounding the business was evacuated as a precaution for any type of explosive devices. Blackwell Assistant Police Chief Jason Bell contacted the Kay County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance.

PIE partners meet for kick-off event

For more than 30 years, the Ponca City Chamber of Commerce has helped unite businesses and local schools, both public and private, for the purpose of enriching and extending educational opportunities of students in Ponca City, while also fostering a deeper understanding of the school system within the community via their PIE partner program.
