(DUGWAY PROVING GROUND, Utah) — As NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft completed its 1.2-billion-mile journey home and sent its sample return capsule back to Earth, a team of Oklahoma State University researchers was waiting and listening.
DALLAS — As majestically as the Cowboys soar when they pocket a couple of victories to start a season, a loss in Arizona mandates an equally spectacular fall back to earth. That’s what has me pondering this week whether the wrong team left Dallas 60 years ago.
When you are a grandparent raising a grandchild, you don’t get to just have fun with them like a grandparent is supposed to. You have to be the parent as well as the grandparent. Many times the grandparent is retired and looking at enjoying retirement when they are faced with caring for a grandchild or multiple grandchildren. You may even still be working and trying to juggle working to provide for them and having the time to care for yourself as well as them. It is important to take some time for yourself and care for you as well as the grandchildren.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Mary Ellen Wooderson from Blackwell, OK in Kay County recently placed first in the Sweet Breads Category of the Senior Division at the State “Best of Wheat” Bread Baking contest held on September 24 at the Oklahoma State Fair. Her entry of Orange Nut Glazed Raisin Bread topped the other entries in the class.
Under the chairmanship of Gary Miles, VFW Post 1201 Commander, The Ponca City Veterans Day Parade Committee have met nearly every Tuesday since early 2016 to plan out the events for the parade and the variety of activities that follow held at War Memorial Park, located at 899 N. 5th Street.
EMMALEE SHIELDS and Ryan Nemec are the Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) September Students of the Month. Shields is a senior at POHI and enrolled in the Biomedical Sciences Academy. Her instructor praises her promptness to class and the positive work environment she creates for other students. Ryan Nemec is with the Automotive Services program and an EPIC student in Ponca City. His instructor celebrates Nemec’s hard working attitude and his above and beyond willingness to help others. These celebrated PTC students can fill up their Student of the Month cups with their favorite beverages at no cost for the entire month.
