28th Annual Hospice Memorial Golf Tournament set for May 26

On Friday, May 26, Hospice of North Central Oklahoma Inc. will host the 28th Annual Hospice Memorial Golf Tournament at Lew Wentz Memorial Golf Course in Ponca City. Shot-gun start is at 8 am and refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the morning with a lunch and awards ceremony to follow at the outdoor courtyard of Ody’s courtesy of D&P Tank and Ody’s.

Stamp Out Hunger event set for May 13

The largest one-day food drive in the United States also happens to be one of the easiest to be a part of; all it takes is a quick trip to your mailbox. On Saturday, May 13 over 175,000 letter carriers nationwide, will be picking up food donations on their regular mail routes during the 30th Annual National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.

Ribbon cutting held for Ponca City Goodwill

The grand opening and ribbon cutting for Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma’s new Ponca City location was held on Thursday, May 4. Located at 2808 N. 14th Street, this will be the first Goodwill location for the area, with customers formerly having to drive as far as Stillwater to reach the closest store.

“Living with Alzheimer’s: For Care Partners” educational series will begin May 10

An educational series of classes will begin on Wednesday, May 10 that is designed to provide tools to take care of yourself and your loved ones. The series will discuss questions that arise when caring for an individual in the early, middle, or late stages of Alzheimer’s, along with providing tips and strategies for every stage.

Wheat Field Day at Schieber Farms Tuesday, May 23rd

The annual Kay County OSU Extension Wheat Field Day at Schieber Farms in Kildare, OK will be Tuesday, May 23rd. The demonstration wheat plot is located at 3300 W Furguson Ave, Kildare, OK 74604. There will be a breakfast catered by DeWayne’s BBQ served at 8:00a.m to those who RSVP. Farmer’s Cooperative Elevator and Helena Agri-Enterprises LLC. have sponsored the breakfast and event. The educational portion of the program, hosted by the OSU Wheat Improvement Team, will start promptly at 9:00a.m. There will also be an OSU Sports update from Triple Play Sports Radio hosts Dave Hunziker, and Robert Allen. Coach Barry Hinson with OSU Athletics will give an update on NIL opportunities.
