LeBron James returned from a monthlong absence with a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds but the Los Angeles Lakers’ three-game winning streak was halted by a 118-108 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.

BARTLESVILLE -- The Ponca City Wildcats lost a pair of baseball games Friday in the Bartlesville Bruin Classic. In the first game Bartlesville was an 8-4 winner and in the second Ponca City lost a 2-1 decision to Oologah.

STILLWATER -- The Ponca City girls soccer team picked up a win Friday in the consolation bracket of the Stillwater Cup. The Lady Cats scored a goal in the second half to defeat Cache 2-1.

The Portland Trail Blazers franchise has given up on the season, but the players they put on the court have not thrown in the towel on at least trying to win. The Blazers, minus four starters, put forth a much better showing against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday than they did during Friday’s lopsided loss to the Chicago Bulls but in the end still came up short, losing 118-112.

STILLWATER -- The Ponca City Lady Cat soccer team went scoreless in two matches Thursday in the Stillwater Cup competition. In the opener, host Stillwater broke open a scoreless match in the second half to win 3-0.

Sapulpa broke out on top Thursday and held its lead for the duration of Thursday’s game, winning 4-1 over the Ponca City Wildcats at the Po-Hi baseball field. Sapulpa scored two runs in the first, one in the second and one in the fourth innings.
