Noon Lions Club partnering with Northern Oklahoma Humane Society

The Ponca City Noon Lions Club will be partnering with the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society (NOKHS) for the month of August to help collect used towels, blankets, dog food, and cat food. The Lions Club are also collecting empty pill bottles, and both treats and toys are welcomed donations as well.

Lucas office provides statement on injury

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Lucas’s office released the following statement:“Friday morning, Congressman Lucas was injured while working at his ranch in Roger Mills County. He was admitted to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City for non-life threatening injuries. Frank and his family are in good spirits and are sincerely grateful to the tremendous team of doctors, nurses, and others taking care of him.”

RSVP: We are better together

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Kay County (RSVP AmeriCorps Seniors) is sponsored locally by United North Central Oklahoma and is funded through a grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service as well as the support of local grants and community giving. The purpose of RSVP is to provide enriching, rewarding, and fulfilling volunteer experiences, which improve the lives of community residents and the community.

THE PONCA City Veterans Parade Association

THE PONCA City Veterans Parade Association traveled to VFW Post 382 in El Reno for an award ceremony. There, the group was presented with an award from the Oklahoma Military Order of the Purple Heart recognizing them as a Distinguished Service Organization. The award was presented by State Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Master Chief Larry Van Schuyver (center, in purple). Evans Children’s Academy’s Musical Theatre Camp has come to a close and Snow White is on the horizon

Throughout last week, July 31 through Aug. 4, Evans Children’s Academy of Performing Arts partnered with The Poncan Theatre to hold a Musical Theatre Camp for the students in the area that have their eyes set on the stage. For $150, children from the ages of 7 and up had the opportunity to learn everything they need to know about life in the musical theatre world. They left no stone unturned throughout the week, teaching everything from singing and acting to even audition preparation and stage makeup.
