Borderline Connection featured group May 6th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Ponca City Gospel Jubilee in the Osage. Located at the corner of Howard and H 60. Borderline have appeared several times at the Ponca City Gospel Jubilee and are always loved by the audience. Bringing a mix of old-time gospel music flavored with a touch of bluegrass. Talented artist and musicians that also add a bit of laughter to their program. We hope you will bring the family and enjoy this talented group in our Christian and familyoriented facility. The Jubilee band will then take stage following refreshments and bring a second set of music for the night. The Jubilee Band is a favorite of many, and we always have a wonderful time singing for the Lord. We hope to see you and your family there.
The Ponca City Federated Music Club announces scholarship winners

The Ponca City Federated Music Club (PCFMC) is proud to announce its 2023 scholarship winners: Kate Branstetter, Isabelle Willis, Noah Colson, and Abby Davis. The scholarships are funded by endowments held by the PCFMC, and each is in the amount of $1000.
Second season at Kay County Amphitheater

The Newkirk Arts Council (NAC) is excited to announce a splendid second summer season at the Kay County Amphitheater. The venue is located at 9th and Main in Newkirk and events will run from May through October. The lineup will include artists who are well known around the area as well as numerous free children’s events.
To DNA or NOT To DNA?

DNA testing and interpretation is a hot topic in genealogy these days. Pioneer Genealogical Society will discuss it at their monthly meeting on Monday, May 1, at 7 pm at the Ponca City Library. Hallie Godbehere, PGS Board member, will present the program from her extensive experience using DNA to track down family members and their mutual ancestors, with a special emphasis on using the Leeds method. In 2018 Dana Leeds, while trying to help a shocked young man looking for his REAL birth parents, devised a way to use a spreadsheet and color coding to sort through pages of DNA matches from testing to simplify and identify his actual four grandparents’ lines. It can be great way to make sense of testing results to solve mysteries in family research and find new direction when documents are not available.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’s true big bad and wild theories

Comically Serious A new trailer dropped on Wednesday for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts which also revealed a very big surprise about the true antagonist of the movie and seemingly confirming that the film is a soft-reboot of the franchise. Now I say “soft-reboot”, as no one is really sure if this is supposed to be in the same continuity of the five Michael Bay movies (there is a lot to say no, but even the Bay films can’t seem to keep things straight).
