OKLAHOMA CITY — Most Oklahomans believe vaccines are safe and effective, and plan to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a recent statewide survey conducted by Amber Integrated. Approximately 78% of Oklahomans believe that vaccines, generally speaking, are safe and effective.

A Special Commission Meeting was held on Monday, December 28 at noon at City Hall. This was a rescheduled meeting for the regular meeting that was canceled for Monday, December 28 at 5:30 p.m.

Arrest— Dispatch received a call on Wednesday at 10:37 a.m. from Noble County that a Branden Horinek and Jaden Biggoose were at Meadowbrook Village Trailer Court on the 2900 block of Union St. and have active felony warrants for their arrest. Officers responded and did locate Beau Biggoose, who was arrested and transported to jail. A report was taken.

The annual Purple Affair Fashion Event, the main fundraising event for the Survivor Resource Network, announced on it’s Facebook page that the event will be cancelled with regard to the health and safety of friends and family.

Quarantining during this time of COVID-19 has provided opportunities to watch some movies that I have always wanted to see. One of those is “It’s a Wonderful Life,” starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.

Dear Annie: My husband has a HUGE family. They gather every year between Christmas and New Year’s Eve in a hotel for at least three days. They are planning to do so this year, during the pandemic. So far, most of them plan on going, which would be almost 80 people. They are coming from Florida, Ohio, Massachusetts, Washington and Maryland. I, of course, will not be attending.

My wife shared the old English proverb with me earlier this year after a particularly challenging day at the office. As chief executive of Full Sail Capital, I’ve seen plenty of challenging days at the office this year, so Kim’s words were particularly meaningful.
