VFW Post 1201 celebrates National Vietnam Veterans Day

VFW Post 1201 held an event for National Vietnam Veterans Day on Monday, March 29. Veterans, their spouses, families and the public came by to enjoy food, drinks and the opportunity to get together and honor the veterans of Vietnam. Many organizations came out to the event including Veteran’s Landing, AMBUCS, AllianceHealth, Caption Call, Hospice of North Central Oklahoma and the VFW Auxiliary.
Mavs baseball splits with Redlands

The 3rd ranked NOC Mavs earned a split in a conference doubleheader with Redlands Saturday in Tonkawa. The Mavs won three of four over the Cougars in the conference opening series.

WARNER, Oklahoma – The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks swept Connors in Region 2 basketball Saturday in Warner. NOC’s women won 61-59 while the #11 NOC men won 79-71.
Ponca City High School’s BPA Chapter earns Top State Awards and ticket to Nationals

Ponca City High School´s BPA (Business Professionals of America) Chapter competed in the State Leadership Conference held on March 9 and 10, 2021. The Broadcast News Production Team composed of members Kaylee Wimberley (Senior, Chapter President), Brady Ladner (Senior), Ethan Meyer (Sophomore, Chapter Historian), and Haley Mills (Sophomore) placed 2nd in the state.
Delaney Reimer receives Leo Canaday Memorial Scholarship

As the NCAA Tournament excitement builds while we move from the Sweet 16 to the Elite 8 and then the Final 4, my reminiscing cells have started revving up to recall tournaments of past years. I didn’t fill out a bracket this year for the first time in many years.
