May 15—BOSTON — Members of the Cardinals had been saying for weeks that they weren’t as bad as they were playing. Of course, that sentiment carries a bit more weight coming off winning six of seven games including five of six on the road than it did in the midst of an eight-game skid.

One thing I like about Facebook is that it reminds me about the birthdays of my friends. I have an easy opportunity to wish them a Happy Birthday, something I would probably not do without the reminder. My wife is much more intentional and sends out birthday cards via the U. S. Postal Service on a regular basis. I am often reminded on FB about important anniversaries, which again offers me a chance to send greetings.

May 13—Jordy Bahl was just off the third base bag as she watched a groundball pull Texas’ third baseman just slightly towards the shortstop. Bahl immediately started drifting down the third base line, and as soon as she saw Mia Scott rifle the ball towards first base, took off running for home.

May 14—Oklahoma was able to build off a strong offensive showing in game two, scoring six runs in the first two innings to build a big lead and secure a series sweep on Sunday. The Sooners struck first with an RBI single by Dakota Harris and a sacrifice fly ball by Kendall Pettis.
