Gwenneth Ruth Beck Thompson passed away July 14, 2023 at Shawn Manor in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was 96. She was the oldest child of Abner and Pearl Pfrimmer Beck. She was born August 10, 1926, on the Paul Ford farm south of Billings, Oklahoma. At the age of two she moved with her family to the Bressie Community south of Ponca City. She attended the Tearney and Marland Schools. She married John Thompson on November 23, 1942. Gwen and John were the parents of Gary John and Sheron Jeannette. They lived on the Bar L Ranch where they were farmers/ranchers. In 1969 they moved to Ponca City, then in 1976 moved to the Kildare area and raised and raced quarter horses. After John’s death in 1985, she continued to reside in the Kildare area until 1993 then she moved to town. Gwen worked at the Senior High School Cafeteria and Miller Markets. Her hobbies were crocheting, making baby afghans for all new family babies, making tablecloths for daughters and granddaughters, and working in her yard. Gwen was a dog person and had many dogs over the years and is survived by her loyal companions Mutt and Jeff.
