Luther H. Hardy

Luther H. Hardy was reunited with his loving wife of 70 years, Harriett Ann (nee Summers) Hardy as he entered heaven on January 31, 2022. He was born on June 21,1931 in Pike City, Arkansas to Alton Autry Hardy and Lera Geneva (nee Martin) Hardy, who both preceded him in death, as did his sister Lula Faye Kizziar, of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Luther and Harriett were married in 1951 in San Francisco.

Gary Lynn Bracken

Gary Lynn Bracken passed away January 29, 2022. He was born February 20, 1956 to Raymond and Margaret Bracken in Jackson County, Missouri. He lived in Prairie Village, a suburb outside of Overland Park, Kansas, until he graduated High School in 1974. After high school he attended Baker University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. While there he was an Alpha Delta Sigma Honorary and was a member of the Zeta Chi Fraternity. After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree he attended the University of Kansas where he received a Juris Doctor. He also achieved Order of the Coif and Law Review. While at the University of Kansas he was a Phi Kappa Phi Honorary.

Floyd Leroy Treiber

Floyd Leroy Treiber, 86, Edmond, Oklahoma, Retired Executive Director of several YMCAs including 35 years at the Ponca City YMCA, died Wednesday February 9, 2022. Funeral service will be February 14, 2022 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. Internment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Edmond Oklahoma. Preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Emma (Schultz) Treiber and, sister Wilba (Treiber) Duggin. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred (Watson) Treiber, brothers Fred Treiber and Randy Treiber, and sister Liz (Treiber) Miller. Daughters, Gwyn Treiber, and Melissa (Trieber) Thomas, stepsons Robert Kiker and Alan Kiker. Grandchildren, Rebecca Harrison, Amy Duey, Mark Kiker and Scott Kiker and 5 great Grand daughters. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to Holy Trinity Lutheran School

Evelyn M. Smith

Evelyn M. Smith of Bartlesville, OK, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. She was born in Wichita, KS, on December 15, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred Smith, as well as her mother, Esther Chandler of Clearwater, KS. Evelyn and Fred lived in Ponca City for 30+ years before moving to Bartlesville in 2015. Evelyn was a homemaker most of her life, active in the Ponca City Music Club holding several offices including President and Vice-President. She and Fred also were longtime members of the Pioneer Christian Church as well. Evelyn is survived by her sister, Leora Jeffries of Clearwater, KS. She is also survived by her son, Brian Smith (Sharon) of Oilton, OK and grandchildren, Justin Smith (Elyse) of Tulsa, OK and great-granddaughter, Sadie James Smith. Heather Willey (Dave) of Chandler, AZ and great-granddaughter, Haven. Breanna Ker (Dillon) of Edmond, OK. Also survived by daughter, Lynne Smith (Dennis) of Jacksonville, FL, granddaughter, Morgan Wright (Peter) of Denver, CO. As well as grandson, Tanner Wright (Ally) also of Denver, CO. Graveside service will be held 2pm, Saturday, February 19th, at Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, KS.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Dr. Donald D. Potter. He will be missed immeasurably by his family, friends, patients, and those that worked with him. . His warm personality and good sense of humor brightened the days of his patients and office staff for more than 40 years. His faith, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and courage while battling illness in the final months of his life were an inspiration to all that knew him. His influence and contribution to our community will never be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church, 610 W. 9th Street, Newkirk, OK, with Father Zak Boazman officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK, 74601.
