Gregory Ken Cremers, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away at his home Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at 1:30 a.m. surrounded by family and friends. He was 59 years old.

A Holy Rosary will be held for Greg at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Internment will follow the funeral at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 1208 S. Waverly in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Masks will be required during services.

Greg was born July 11, 1961, in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Ronald H. and Kenny Lou Cremers. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Jefferson Elementary and West Jr. High, before graduating from Ponca City Senior High School in 1980. He participated in several sports while in school including football, wrestling and baseball. As a boy, he loved building and riding bikes. Greg liked being with friends and could often be found playing football and baseball in the front yard or a vacant lot with all the kids from his neighborhood. After high school, Greg worked in the construction field for many years. He gained valuable knowledge and experience in various aspects of construction which earned him respect from the people he worked with.

Greg had a great love of animals. A stray dog or cat could always find refuge at Greg’s house where they were fed and cared for until he could find them a new home. Greg loved outdoor activities. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, water skiing or just sitting around the campfire telling stories. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. He especially took pleasure in taking road trips and attending rock concerts. He lived life to the fullest and loved being with people.

Greg was very outgoing and truly had respect and unconditional love for everyone he met. He was a friend to all and valued his friendships above all else. He was nonjudgmental and would give to those in need even when it meant he would go without himself. Visits with the neighborhood kids brought joy to his life. Those kids could be found at any given time in his front yard enjoying a slushy he’d bought for them from the quick shop across the street or listening to his stories, some so incredible they were hard to believe. The kids loved him. He lived in the same neighborhood for 57 years and relished the thought of telling those same stories to the next generation of neighborhood kids.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ponca City. Greg had a very strong faith in God and tried to life his life according to his faith.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents Kenny Lou Cremers and Ronald H. Cremers, a brother-in-law Ted Thomas, his grandparents Henry and Barbara Cremers, Mary Powell, Kenton Powell, Carmen Powell, his very special Aunt Margie Nicks, a niece Korban Cremers and numerous other aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his daughter Brittney Daine, his special mom Linda Cremers, Godmother Phyllis Moriarty, siblings Chris Cremers and wife Peggy, Matt Cremers and wife Martha, Debbie Thomas, Julie Vap and husband Gary, Ron Cremers and wife Michelle, all of Ponca City, and James Wallace of Oklahoma City, numerous nieces and nephews and their families Kyle Cremers and wife Aubree, Zach Cremers and wife Chambree, Branden Connelly and wife Amy, Blake Connelly and wife Lydia, Blaine Cremers and wife Lauren, Brenton Cremers and wife Kiley, Kara Thomas, Parker Thomas and wife Alyssa, Jacob, Caleb, Daniel Vap, Jordan, Morgan, Trey, Torran Cremers, Josh Wallace and wife Rachel, and Nick Wallace. Also 18 greatnieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends including special friends Ed Allen, Angie Addair, Brittany Addair, Tyler Addair, John Hercyk, Rickie Wilson, Austin Rae, Douglas Calvin, Misti Scott, Chandra and Rocky Hidalgo, Justine Boynton, Richard Kimbrel and Rusty Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ponca City Humane Society.
