The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Kay County (RSVP AmeriCorps Seniors) is sponsored locally by United North Central Oklahoma and is funded through a grant from the Corporation for National & Community Service as well as the support of local grants and community giving. The purpose of RSVP is to provide enriching, rewarding, and fulfilling volunteer experiences, which improve the lives of community residents and the community.

“Poetic Reflections”

Affectionately, Known as “The Queen” In 2006, I bought a retirement toy, it was a beautiful Metallic Red convertible Corvette, She had a tan rag top, interior in shades of taupe, traveled fast in style like in a jet. She was a 2003, 50th Anniversary Edition, immaculate, always kept her spotlessly clean, 350 cubic inches, 350 horsepower of fuel injected muscle, affectionately known as “The Queen.” She had a four-speed tranny, smooth as silk on the shift, but stand on the accelerator like a pro, Those big wide Goodyear Eagles would do their trick, they would just hook up and go.

Capitol Considerations

While most of us in the Senate support lowering the personal income tax in a fiscally responsible, methodical way, this special session call was unnecessary. It is our constitutional duty to pass new laws or amend current ones during the regular legislative session, which runs from February to the end of May. We use the interim to conduct studies, have working groups and other committees to take deeper dives into more complicated issues. Tax reform is a perfect example.

Not having a House speaker is threatening these key areas

WASHINGTON — Work in Congress has ground to a halt as Republicans search for a new speaker, threatening Ukraine aid and delaying consequential business legislation. Among the items now stalled are a measure to extend federal banking protections to marijuana companies operating in states where the drug is legal and negotiations to restore tax breaks for business spending on research and development.
