LONDON — Irish police have condemned as “gratuitous thuggery” rioting that broke out in Dublin city center in the aftermath of a knife attack that left three young children and a woman injured. Angry impromptu protests in the aftermath of Thursday afternoon’s attack outside a school on Parnell Square East in the north inner city spiraled into a night of violence and disorder as buses, trams and at least one Garda vehicle were burned and a shop was looted on one of Dublin’s most famous throughfares, O’Connell Street.

Music composed by Auschwitz prisoners to debut next week after near-decade of restoration

Music composed by Auschwitz prisoners during the Holocaust will finally see the light of day next week. “Orchestras of Auschwitz” will feature four of the more than 200 pieces discovered in 2015 by conductor-composer Leo Geyer when he visited the Polish death camp that year, following the death of British historian and Holocaust expert Martin Gilbert, CNN reports.
