Oklahoma Senate won’t cut taxes in special session, top lawmaker says

OKLAHOMA CITY — The leader of the state Senate said his chamber will not cut taxes during Monday’s special session called by the governor. In a Wednesday news release, Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, said his chamber will not vote on anything in the session that he called “political theater and a waste of taxpayer dollars” because state leaders have not come to an agreement on tax cuts.
