Xi Gamma Sigma Chapter met on September 8, 2020 at 12:30, with Trina Sims as hostess. Ms. Sims welcomed the group to her dock and patio on Lake Ponca, and served hoagie sandwiches and dessert bars. Special guest was Ms. Sims’ mother.

The meeting was opened with the Opening Ritual, and Vice President Betty Jones conducted the business meeting in the absence of President Sharla Vetter. The roll was called and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

A thank-you note from Darlene VandeBurg was read, and it was announced that Nancy Keathly was planning to join the chapter and would attend the next meeting. Committee reports were given.

The next meeting will be September 22nd at 12:30 with Betty Jones as hostess.The business meeting was adjourned and the Closing Ritual recited. Secret sister gifts were exchanged.

The program was presented by special guest Terron Liles, Executive Director of the Ponca City Art Association, who stated that the new offices were at the City Central building at 400 E. Central and hours were Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and by appointment. He stated the annual Art Festival was cancelled due to the Corona Virus and instead there would be an Art Crawl on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 PM along Grand Avenue. The event is free for artists, and 19 artists are already signed up, and more coming. There will be light music provided, and the Veteran’s Plaza will be the hub of activities, with public restrooms provided. He answered questions from the group and encouraged everyone to attend. He stated that Ponca City is known throughout the state for it’s visual arts and many private art collections.
