Scott Melton, Senior Pastor of Northeast Baptist Church, reminds us of Jeremiah 29: 11-13 which says that God knows the plans he has for every child conceived. Plans to prosper and not to harm.

With this Bible verse in mind, Northeast Baptist Church of Ponca City believes what scripture tells us about God’s plans for each child and they will again coordinate the Ponca City area Life Chain on Sunday, Oct. 4th from 2 p.m.-3 p.m.

Northeast Baptist Church and other churches involved are using the Life Chain to make people aware that there are churches who care about life and want to help people as they struggle in making that choice.

Everyone will meet on the 400 block of north 14th St. in the parking lot of the Pioneer Shopping Center at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4th. for prayer prior to taking a stand for life. Professional posters will be provided for participants to hold or you may bring your own.

Participants that have taken part in the past include St. Francis Catholic Church of Newkirk, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foursquare Gospel, Oak grove Baptist Church of Kaw City, Agape Church and several other churches in our area in addition to Northeast Baptist.

Life Chain is a prayerful, peaceful event that promotes choosing life for the unborn child. Pastor Scott Melton of Northeast Baptist Church urges Christians to take a public stand for life. If you are not able to stand for an hour, please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs and “take a stand” as you sit, hold a poster and pray for women who are struggling in making a choice.

National Life Chain is a national organization and on Sunday, Oct. 4th from 2-3 p.m. this event will be held in each time zone across America and Canada. Sidewalks in hundreds of cities and towns will again proclaim Life Chain’s messages. Other messages will include Adoption: The Loving Option and Jesus Forgives and Heals as well as several others.

Life Chain is devoted foremost to prayer and if you have any other questions regarding the Ponca City Life Chain please call Betty Tautfest at 580-762-1354.
