Wildcats take on mental illness

Oklahoma is known to be one of the lowest ranked states in the United States for their mental health access and education. Whether it be cost, lack of access, or other reasons, Oklahomans often don’t receive the help they need when it comes to mental illness. Ponca City High School is looking to change that within their walls.

½-cent sales tax proposition is passed

An election was held on Tuesday, Jan. 10 for the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) ½-cent sales tax extension. This was a ½-cent sales tax that helps to fund PCDA’s operation. Every five years, this funding comes to a vote of the citizens of Ponca City.

Swimmers compete in recent events

The Ponca City Wildcat swim team was the dominant team in a seven-team event at Oologah last week. The Wildcats won the boys competition with 114 points to second-place Oologah, the girls won first place over Oologah 60-42 and the combined score was 176 to 110 over second-place Oologah.
