Japan calls on North Korea to refrain from ‘satellite’ launch

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called for North Korea to refrain from a planned rocket launch following reports Pyongyang intends to put a satellite in orbit as early as this Wednesday. Kishida instructed his cabinet Monday to gather and analyze information on North Korea’s planned move after reports that Pyongyang would launch a ballistic missile described as a satellite, according to a tweet from the Prime Minister’s Office.

City Hall offices, located at 516 E. Grand Avenue, will be changing hours of operation after Memorial Day. Beginning Tuesday, May 30, City Hall will be open Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The offices of the City Attorney, City Manager, Development Services, Environmental Services, Fire Administration, Finance, Grants Administration, Public Works and Technology Services will be closed for lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Utility Billing, Human Resources, and the City Clerk’s Office will be open during the lunch hour.
