Dec. 5—Now that Oklahoma State’s football season is effectively over — aside from the Houston Bowl against Texas A&M — there are two main takeaways that come to mind.
The Ponca City Lady Cats basketball team had difficulty scoring Tuesday night, which resulted in a 58-19 loss to Bixby at Robson FIeld House. The Lady Cats scored seven points in the first quarter, which turned out to be their best period.
The Ponca City Wildcats got off to a good start in Tuesday’s game with Bixby, but by the time the game ended, Bixby went home with an 81-55 victory. It was the second game of the year for Ponca City, which came away with a 52-49 victory over Life Prep of Wichita last week.
TAHLEQUAH -- With one game under their belts, the Ponca City Lady Cats basketball team will head to Tahlequah to play in the Tahlequah Invitational Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Ponca City will take an 0-1 record to the tournament after Tuesday’s loss to Bixby.
MILWAUKEE — Julius Randle will have to find another reason to go to Las Vegas. Randle packed an additional set of clothes in anticipation of defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in the In-Season Tournament quarterfinal on Tuesday.
Both First Lutheran varsity basketball teams brought home the championship win this past weekend from the 21st annual Milt Brueggemann Lutheran Basketball Tournament in Shawnee, Kansas. Eight middle schools from OK, KS, IA, and MO competed in the boys’ and girls’ brackets.
In Houston’s 22-17 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. recorded five tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, four quarterback hits and one pass defended.
