Mayors Council of Oklahoma raising awareness for National Gun Violence Awareness Day The first day in June is National Gun Violence Awareness Day and corresponds with the “Wear Orange Weekend” that is held from June 2 to June 4 were the survivors of gun violence are honored. The Mayors Council of Oklahoma unanimously approved a resolution to recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day during June 2 to June 4 by issuing proclamations and encouraging people to wear the color orange during the weekend.
