It is a great time to be a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. For the third time in four years, the Chiefs have earned a spot in the Super Bowl. It is like eating some rich candy. It is almost too sweet to enjoy.

The Ponca City Lady Cats got out of the box quickly and never looked back Monday night as they defeated the Enid Pacers 69-51 in Po-Hi’s Robson Field House. Ponca City scored 21 points in the first quarter and led 21-10 after the first eight minutes of action.

In a game during which there were scoring surges by both teams, the Enid Plainsmen outpointed the Ponca City Wildcats 77-65 in Robson FIeld House Monday night. Ponca City took charge early and scored 17 points while holding Enid to 10 in the first quarter.

SAND SPRINGS -- Ponca City varsity girls wrestling team finished third in the Sand Springs Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Cats finished behind Springdale (Ark.) Har-Ber and Heritage of Arkansas during the event, Team scoring was Har-Ber, 165; Heritage, 101.5; Ponca City, 89; Perry, 71; Sand Springs, 68; Skiatook, 68; Sapulpa, 66; Claremore, 65; Tuthrie, 61; Pawhuska, 43; Tuttle, 39; Mannford, 31; Bristow, 30; Choctaw, 30.

PERRY -- The Ponca City Wildcat wrestlers finished as runner-up in the annual Big 4+4 Tournament held Saturday. Winning the event was Westmoore, with Ponca City second and Blackwell a close third.
