I watched bits and pieces of the MLB draft Sunday night and while I didn’t really know much about those being selected, it did help me remember the 2011 draft in which two Oklahoma high school pitchers were chosen very high in the selection process.

A total of 20 athletes from the Ponca City area attended the five-day girls’ basketball camp directed by Greg Krause, head coach for the Northern Lady Mavs June on 25-29. Campers worked on mass drills, station drills and team transition offense skills, including work on floor balance, filling lanes, court spacing, advancing the ball and shot selection.

CHICAGO — Paul DeJong’s second hit of the day, an RBI double rifled into the left-field corner, drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and it proved the difference as the Cardinals escaped the Windy City with a one-run win and a series victory against the White Sox on Sunday afternoon.

One of the recent headlines in the sports world had to do with Domingo German of the New York Yankees pitching a perfect game. It was the 24th perfect game in Major League Baseball history and the first since Felix Hernandez of Seattle pitched one on Aug; 14, 2012.
