The Ponca City News received the following letter from Bart Perrier announcing his candidacy for Osage County Sheriff in 2024.

Dear Fellow Osage County Residents, It is with great pride and excitement that I announce my intention to run for Sheriff of Osage County in 2024. I am a sixth-generation Osage County resident and a member of the Osage Nation, who was raised and proudly resides in the Barnsdall area. It has always been my goal to serve as Sheriff of my beloved home county. I have over 25 years of vast experience in all areas of law enforcement and have investigated crimes throughout the county and across the State of Oklahoma which has prepared me to become your Sheriff. I am confident that I possess the qualities necessary to lead and serve as your Sheriff. I have dedicated my entire adult life to serving and protecting the people of Osage County. Now is the time for me to step forward, with your help and support, to achieve my goal of becoming the next Sheriff of Osage County.

Throughout my career, I have always prioritized leadership qualities such as trust, integrity, honesty, professionalism, and accountability. As an officer and leader, I understand the importance of leading by example and setting high standards for myself and my team. I believe that these qualities are essential in ensuring that our Sheriff’s Office operates at the highest level of excellence.

In addition to my law enforcement experience, I have also served the public as a member of various boards, demonstrating my commitment to community service and leadership. I am proud of my proven track record against crime, and I am confident that I can continue to make a positive impact in our county. I believe that the role of the Sheriff is not only to enforce the law, but also to be a leader in the community, bringing people together to solve problems and create a safer, more inclusive county for all.

When elected as your Sheriff, I promise to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of all Osage County residents. I will continue to build strong partnerships within our communities, and I will remain accountable to you, the people I serve.

I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as your Sheriff, and I look forward to earning your trust and support.
