Delores R. Schadegg, 90, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Shawn Manor in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Born May 4, 1932, in Howard, Kansas, she was the daughter of John and Ruth (Atkinson) McNair. Her family moved to Winfield in 1941. Delores graduated from Winfield High School. She went on to work at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center for over 13 years. She loved the infants that she took care of in the baby ward, calling them “her babies”. She moved to Cedar Vale in 1983, Arkansas City in 1999, and finally to Ponca City in 2017.

She enjoyed antiques, nature, gardening, wildlife, traveling, and dancing. Her travel highlights included coast to coast trips throughout the US, Hawaii (visiting Bobby while he served in the US Army, and Germany (visiting Janice while she served in the US Air Force).

Her family includes her son Jack Schadegg of Rockville, MD; her daughters, Jill Redwine of Angleton, TX; Janet (Michael) Mulvey of Severna Park, MD; Janice Wing of Fayetteville, NC; her brother Jimmy (Sue) Morton of Winfield; her sister, Amy Goggin of Phoenix, AZ; her twin sister Lois (Clarence) Parker of Ponca City, OK; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by two sons, Robert “Bobby” and Michael Schadegg, sisters, Joan Conover and Louise Foudray, a grandson Shane Schadegg, granddaughter, Rachel Schadegg, great granddaughter Kerianne Rubino, and a great-great granddaughter Alana Trotter.

A private family service will be held at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield with burial at Highland Cemetery.

Memorials have been established in Delores’ name for the Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer’s Foundation, and for the Mayo Clinic. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
