Shelby Dale Krout; beloved fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many left this world to join his Lord and Savior on Wednesday October 25, 2023. He was only twenty-nine years old.

Shelby was born on April 4, 1994, to Bobby and Marjorie Krout (Moeder) in Ponca City, OK. From an early age, Shelby was a creative and adventurous soul. He had a lifelong passion for wrestling. Upon graduating from Ponca City Senior High in 2012, he attended Labette Community College and later Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College to continue his education and wrestling career.

Shelby was a fun, loving, passionate, dedicated and committed father of two sweet and beautiful children. He welcomed his daughter, Rylee Jo in 2010, and later welcomed son, Beau Dale with fiancé Casey Schrantz in 2022. Shelby’s adoration and love for his children will remain infinite.

Growing up, Shelby was the life of the party, the class clown, and the one who could always make you laugh. He was known by many for his lively sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and his dedication on and off the mat. Shelby’s athletic desires began at four years old, where wrestling and football would become his passion. His high school years were marked by numerous accomplishments including two-time state placer; once as a State Champion in 2012. Throughout college he was a NCJAA All American and a member of the 2013 NCJAA National Championship team for Labette and the 2014 NCJAA National Championship team for NEO.

Throughout his youth you’d either find Shelby on the wrestling mat or spending time with his Grandpa at the Family Farm where he learned many key lessons in life that would lead him in his work ethic. Inside and outside of sports his drive and determination were always admired by many. He was a hard laborer from the time he was able to pick up a hammer. Being dependable, strong, and taking pride in helping others, he was often sought out for handyman work. He eventually landed a career in the construction field.

As the baby of the family, Shelby was easily coerced by his sisters to be the guinea pig of all their “great” ideas. Often these ideas ended up in someone getting hurt or in trouble. The strong bond and playful gestures between siblings carried them through childhood, continued through adulthood, and will be immensely missed.

Shelby’s pastimes were spent fishing, hunting, goofing around, spending time at the Family Farm, and most of all being a father. He passed down his passion for sports and art to his daughter and enjoyed spending his weekends watching her play softball. A secret hobby that Shelby and Rylee Jo shared was painting together.

Shelby was able to share so easily his gift of love because he felt the gift of love from his dedicated and involved parents. Bobby and Marjorie Krout attended every practice, every tournament, and poured their heart and soul into their children. Shelby knew his Mom and Dad loved him unconditionally and no matter what, they would show up at any point in life, in the best ways they knew how.

Shelby received his second chance at life in March of 2021. Shortly after this miracle, Shelby was blessed with meeting the love of his life, Casey. They began building a life of pure love, joy, and laughter. Bringing their son Beau into the world gave Shelby another opportunity to share his love. Shelby and Beau spent their evenings together wrestling before their nightly bedtime cuddles. Shelby was ecstatic to have played a part in teaching Beau to walk and give hugs, among many other wonderful things that Beau learned from his daddy.

Shelby’s love wasn’t limited to his children and fiancé. He spread his love to all; from flying his nephews “high like an eagle” to friendly wrestling matches with them – his nephews held a special place in his heart. His second chance at life and the fellowship that came along with that gave him the tools to help those struggling as he once did, find purpose and create a life worth living.

Shelby was preceded in death by his grandparents Dale and Carol Krout and Muriel Moeder, one aunt, many uncles, and close relatives.
