Jerald Dwain Stone, 83, of Ponca City, passed away peacefully December 10, 2022, at South Central Kansas Medical Center. Cremation has been effected. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Jerald was born February 25, 1939, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Joseph Dewey Stone and Neva (Meadows) Stone. He graduated from Grandfield High School in 1957, and studied Agriculture at Oklahoma State University. Jerald married Judy McCullough, also from Grandfield, where they raised their daughters, Christy, and Andrea.

Jerald served as a volunteer firefighter, owned a feed store, and raised hogs. In 1973 he was hired as Grandfield’s city manager. The family moved to Altus in 1980 where Jerald began a career in cable television. In 1985 they moved to Ponca City.

Later in life Jerald married Leigh Stone and served as city manager in Newkirk.

He is survived by his sister Donna Dillingham of Phoenix, AZ; his daughter, Andrea Lee of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Lindsey Lewis Calhoun of Temple, OK; Lauren Lee Luce of Greenville, SC; Stephen Lee of Raleigh, NC; Andrew Lee of Charlotte, NC, and three great grandchildren; Raelyn Calhoun, Christy Calhoun, and Ezra River Luce.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents, Neva and Dewey Stone, Judy Stone, and his daughter, Christy Lewis.
